Delete a Message Stuck in the Outbox

If you attempt to send a message that is too large for your mail server you may be unable to delete it from the Outbox. An error dialog will say that the MAPI spooler has begun sending the message.

First, try setting Outlook offline using the File, Offline menu. Wait about a minute or so or close Outlook and reopen.

If you are unable to delete the message while in offline mode or cannot go into offline mode, you'll need to change your default delivery location.

The following steps are for Outlook 2002/2003, the steps for older versions are the same, although the menus are different..

  1. Add a new PST using the File, New, Outlook Data File menu.
  2. Open the Email Accounts dialog on the Tools menu.
  3. Select view or Change existing email accounts and click Next.
  4. Select the new personal folders file from the Deliver new email to the following location list.
  5. Click Finish and restart Outlook.
  6. Show the folder list, using Ctrl+6 if necessary, and find the old Outbox. Delete the message.
  7. Repeat steps 2, 3, 4, and 5 to restore the original pst as the default delivery location.
  8. Show the folder list and move any new messages from the new pst to the original pst.
  9. Right click on the new folder's name and Choose Close to remove it from your profile.

3rd Method:

If the above mentioned tricks don't work, then try following trick which is actually a loophole in Windows XP Setup and a big security hole:

A. Boot using Windows XP Setup CD and follow the instruction like Accepting EULA, etc.

B. When it asks to repair your existing Windows installation, accept it and press "R" to run the repair.

C. Setup will start repairing your Windows and will start copying files, etc.

D. After a few minutes setup will restart your system and when it restarts don't press any key when it shows "Press any key to continue..." otherwise Setup will start from the beginning. Don't press any key and setup will resume where it left.

E. Now it'll start doing other tasks and will show a small progressbar with a few details in left side.

F. Look carefully at the details and when it shows "Installing devices", press +F10 keys in your keyboard.

G. It'll open a Command Prompt window. Now type nusrmgr.cpl and press .

H. It'll open the same "User Accounts" window which you see in Control Panel.

I. Now you can remove or reset any account password without any problem.

4th Method:

There are many 3rd party utilities which claim to recover forgotten Windows password:

Windows Geeks Lost Forgotten Password Service:

Windows Geeks have a program that works instantly to remove any lost or forgotten password. With this program you can get back in very quickly:

Offline NT Password & Registry Editor:

This is a utility to reset the password of any user that has a valid (local) account on your NT system. You do not need to know the old password to set a new one. It works offline, that is, you have to shutdown your computer and boot off a floppydisk or CD. It'll detect and offer to unlock locked or disabled out user accounts. It is also an almost fully functional registry editor.

Windows XP Login Recovery:

Login Recovery is a service to reveal user names and recover passwords for Windows NT, 2000, XP, 2003 and Vista. As long as you have physical access to the computer, your passwords can be recovered.

Ultimate Boot CD (UBCD): [Thanks to Rakesh for recommending]

Ultimate Boot CD runs independently of any operating system. It will boot from any Intel-compatible machine, regardless of whether DOS/Windows/Linux/BeOS is installed on the machine. However, you do need an operating system and a ISO-capable CD writer software to create the Ultimate Boot CD from the downloaded ISO image file.

5th Method:

If all fails, then simply reinstall Windows and create new accounts. To recover lost data, you can use Data recovery tools available on net but the chances will be very low to get data back.

That's all we can suggest. If you have any other method / tool, feel free to post here.

How to Install a Router to Use With a DSL Internet Connection

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • LAN card and power adapter
  • Telephone cord (in case of an ADSL router)
  • CD ROM with manual
  • Ethernet cable
  • DSL router
  1. Step 1

Ensure that you have all necessary equipment to connect the DSL router. This includes the router itself, CD ROM with manual, Ethernet cable, telephone cord (in case of an ADSL router) and power adapter. Contact the retailer or the manufacturer of the DSL router if any of the above equipment is missing.

  2. Step 2

Plug in the telephone line to the ADSL port of your router. This is applicable only if you have an ADSL connection. Note that in case of an ADSL connection, your Internet Service Provider (ISP) will use your telephone line to provide Internet access.

  3. Step 3

Plug the CAT5 (or CAT6) cable into the Internet port of your router in case on non-ADSL connections. In such cases, your Internet Service Provider would wire a CAT5 (or CAT6) cable specifically for your DSL connection. The end of this cable should be connected to the router.

  4. Step 4

Connect one end of another CAT5 cable (also known as Ethernet cable) to any of the Ethernet ports of your DSL router. Connect the other end to the LAN port of your computer or to the LAN port of your switch/hub if you plan to share the DSL connection on your network. Note that every computer to be connected with the router will require a LAN card installed.

  5. Step 5

Plug in the router to an electrical socket and power it on.

  6. Step 6

Switch on the computer and/or your network switch/hub.

  7. Step 7

Configure the router, the steps for which may vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. Read the user manual and installation guide for specific instructions. Usually the instructions are simple and easy to follow. You will need to input your IP address and a range of other parameters to set up the DSL router. These details will be provided by your ISP.

  8. Step 8

After configuring the DSL router, visit a few sites to ensure that you have DSL Internet access on your computer(s).
